Why you can’t let the world stop you from being you

Close your eyes for a minute,
tune everything out that could distract you.
Turn off your phone or at least put it on silent, turn off the wifi, radio or tv.

Just be quiet for a moment – and breathe.

This moment is very special, it is only for you!

Now open up your eyes and realize, ONLY YOU EXIST right here, right now.

There is no one here but you, right now, in this moment.

Everything else is an illusion.
The only thing that matters is you being by yourself in this room.

And doesn’t that feel good?

Don’t you feel alive, bathing in the light of life?

Your life is not about ‘the others’.
It is about YOU.

I had to learn this and I still have to at times because it is natural that if you live with someone, you will often put this person first.

Even if you are by yourself, you will have so many other people occupying your mind… your parents, your (best) friends, your loved ones – you will continuously focus on everything but you!

We have learned to think it is egoistic if we take time to listen to our heart, our soul.
Even school, magazines and TV shows teach us that we have to be surrounded by people all the time. That we are “nothing” without them.

The truth has been twisted.

The only way for you to be happy and “make” others happy is to be yourself. Period.

This can only happen if you go within and find time to learn more about who you are – time to explore your inner journey – release everything that isn’t you.

In order to do so, it helps to have a journal – either write into a book or your laptop.

I remember the time when I was a teenager and felt the importance of having a diary in my life. Reading through it today makes me laugh a lot but it also reminds me of the time when I was a dreamer (which I still am). It helps me to see the things I have manifested in my life and how I used to feel controlled and wanted to fit in.

A journal will help you focus and write down what you truly want in your life. Who you are and how other people have influenced you throughout your life.

You can have a lot of fun with a journal.

We think we know how others want us to be and try to be that in the best way. But we forget to ask ourselves what WE really want and how we want to feel or be.

So let me ask you:
How do you want to feel today?
How has your day been so far?

Don’t think about it, just write down whatever comes to your mind and soon you will learn what you really want, how you really feel and who you are, deep inside.

Because if you try to be like everyone else wants you to be you will end up having 500 different versions of yourself but not the authentic you.

Your true smile, your true believes, a special aura that only you can exude.

You can’t let the world stop you
from being you because the world needs you.

No matter what others say or what others think, in the end, when you are the way someone else wants you to be (and it is not how you truly see yourself) you will lose your glow and whatever fascinated someone else about you will also have disappeared because you are no longer the person they met when you still were the best version of yourself.

So go out there and shine – for the spark within you will be contagious and help others to be their authentic selves as well.
