The moment comes when you realize
You’ve walked through pain, believed the lies.

You understood you’d soon be dead.

You listened, never questioned, you followed with pride.

The “American Dream” – the american life –
But what if someone pulled out a knife –

That you saw this life as a gift?

Or would they say, you lived a lie –
You hardly took the time to say “hi”?!

What would leave behind?

Are you able to set your spirit free?

Living for the future, to the present blind?
